Seascapes

There is nothing more inspiring to me than capturing the rhythm of the motion of the sea and blurring boundaries between different forms. I love the challenge of working on the ground and giving each location a character. Acrylic and watercolour are often mixed with local textures and grains. I am fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time at our family house in try national park of Almeria or being based in Kalkan, Turkey working along the waters edge being mesmerised by the ongoing symphony of shapes, motion and rhythms of the sea. During my painting trips there is always a day on the water’s edge working initiated by a mediation to enter the right state for a painting session. Plein Air Work

I have spent a lot of time working on coastal landscapes. I am fascinated by the changing light, mood, tone and colours. It is always entrancing to work along the water’s edge and find oneself immersed in time and place.

I have also been running painting holidays in Southern Spain exploring the Mediterranean Coast as well as Turkey and Greece and this has given me a lot of opportunity to work along the coast.
